Currently Andrey Stoilov is the Executive Chef of Hotel Marinela, one of the biggest hotels in Bulgaria. He is the chef of this prestigious hotel since May 2013.
During the previous six years (2007-2013) he was the chef at the Metropolitan Hotel in Sofia and he was one of the most prominent members of the young team of the hotel. He started his career in thr hotel “Bavarian House” – one of the first private hotels of foreign investments in Bulgaria. After that, he worked six years in the Ambassador Hotel, where he developed his talent and then continued his career in the five-star Hilton. There, Andrey spent seven years, four and a half of which he was assistant executive chef in one of the busiest kitchens in Sofia.
Love for the profession is not limited to the workplace, he says. Andrey is the co-founder of the Bulgarian Association of Professional Cooks. As a member of the Association Andrey is always willing to help the National cooking team of Bulgaria, a team that has achieved numerous awards from international competitions.
Andrey became the chairman of the Bulgarian Association of Professional Chefs in 2016. He was also the captain in the Bulgarian national team of chefs in Culinary Olympics 2008 and 2012 in Erfurt – Germany. Moreover, he was the winner of numerous titles for Bulgaria in international competitions: gold and silver from culinary festival in Nis – Serbia; silver in the Euro-Asian festival in the town Ekaterininburg – Russia; two bronze medals in Culinary Olympics in Erfurt – Germany 2008; a gold medal “Leskovac Skariada 2009” presenting the national Bulgarian grill, salads and appetizers.
He was also the coordinator of the national team BANG during the World Culinary Cup Vileroy & Boch in Luxembourg (19 to November 24, 2010), where the team won bronze awards. In addition to this, he was the coach of the first team that won a participation in the culinary semi-finals for the Bocuse ‘d’Or in Brussels during the winter of 2012. Last but not least, he was the captain for the second time in the National Culinary team of Bulgaria during the second Olympic Culinary Games in which Bulgaria took part in 2012.
Finally, he is the organizer, the jury and a chairman in the National Culinary Cup of Bulgaria and Bocuse d’Or Bulgaria.
